Ghanaian software engineer Farida Bedwei continues to use tech to transform lives

Farida Bedwei, a Ghanaian software engineer, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a child, but that didn’t stop prevent her from building a successful career as software engineer.

She is the developer of a cloud software platform that 130 nationwide microfinance companies use today, and the co-founder and chief technical officer of software company Logiciel, a company offering a wide range of mobile and cloud based software for financial institutions who are focused on banking those in the informal sector. The South African publication, CEO Magazine, named her the most influential woman in government and business in Africa.

In a conversation with the CNN, Bedwei revealed how tech can transform lives and how she defied the odds to find success.
