Tshiamo Legoale was named FameLab International Champion at the Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK in 2017, and she’s a woman to watch.
Legoale, a geologist and researcher at metallurgical R&D organisation Mintek, helps local communities legally mine the dumps that dot our landscape, and her winning research uses wheat as a gold hyper-accumulator. If you have no idea what that means, here’s an explanation:
